Sometimes, when life gives you lemons, throws you a curveball, or just plain ol’ screws you over, the best thing to do is make the best of the situation. Or, take advantage of it. In this case, being laid off was not something I had anticipated earlier this year, but all of a sudden I found myself traveling home to Norway, with an unlimited amount of time ahead of me.
After spending some much-needed time at home, and then a couple therapeutic days alone in Italy, I headed to Copenhagen to spend almost two days with one of my favorite people. Seriously, sometimes all you need is to walk until you can’t any longer, stop for coffee whenever the idea strikes you, and go searching for anything to photograph.
Unfortunately, thanks to the fact that my computer is slowly checking itself out and an inexcusable lack of motivation, it has taken me until now to start editing these images, and it will probably take me another month to go through the rest of them. Somehow, I can’t stop feeling like the summer is already over, despite the fact that I spent yesterday at the lake with my sister, and am planning another roadtrip next month, in spite of my lack of funds. Oops.
Copenhagen though. One of my favorite cities in the world. We started our first day with an amazing brunch, then found our way to avocado toast and espresso tonic on the rooftop of Illum. This is a serious tip for anyone who is planning on visiting Copenhagen! Such a good spot to get away from the bustle, but continue watching it from afar.
